CITY MASTER PLAN AMENDMENTS
Protecting NOLA Green Space
Parks for All submitted amendments to the City Master Plan providing protection to open green space and a venue for robust public input regarding parks. The amendments, sponsored by Mayor-Elect LaToya Cantrell are expected to come up for a final council vote in December 2017.
Parks for All recently presented a plan to connect Scout Island & Couterie Forest, the last naturally forested areas in City Park. The plan would seamlessly increase one's "in-nature" experience: the opportunity to experience a long shaded walk in a beautiful natural setting. The plan also calls for convenient access to the area.

ensure future development plans include public input from surrounding neighborhoods. Development and passive open space for the public should be considered in final plans.
